Lloyd's Tire & Auto - Santa Cruz

Great place. Had a leak in my pretty new tire. My wife took it to Skips who tried to sell her a new tire saying it can't be fixed. Fortunately I said BS and took it to Lloyd's who fixed it in 10 minutes. Great place. Honest and competent people.Update: I recently had another tire fixed. I got a call the next day from the office person telling me she noticed they mistakenly overcharged my CC and would refund it immediately. Very honest people.

Wow. Great Service Exceptional Customer Service. Found this place through yelp.. and went in because my tire pressure monitor went off. They checked my rim and found that it was nothing wrong with the tire, but it was the rim that had a defect. got new rims on Now i am going through warranty and getting the replacement rim directly sent here. I will update my experience. PS: My Service advisor was Graham ! Nice guy! highly recommended

When I lived in Santa Cruz they were the place I always went to. Now that I live in San Jose I miss them.

I used to live in Santa Cruz, and I always took my car to Lloyds for my tires and other important services. Now I live in San Jose, and when I had a flat tire recently I was forced to take my car to a Tire shop near my house. As excepted, they changed my tire and then proceeded to give me a long list of additional products and services including new tire rods, break adjustment, new struts, another new tire, et cetera. Skeptical, I took the list and my car to Lloyd's Tire Service. They did the alignment that I requested, and examined my car. They also assured me that everything else on the list was unnecessary... all my tires were in good shape, my tire rods were in perfect condition, and my struts were a bit worn but definitely not in dire shape.Very few of us have the time or inclination to become expert mechanics in our free time, and so having an honest tire shop that can be relied upon to provide important services without trying to rip you off truly is priceless. The mechanics at Lloyd's are not always the most friendly, but they are honest and efficient and care about their work. Taking your car to Lloyds, even if it requires an out-of-town trip, is definitely worth it.As an added benefit, Lloyds is in a great location very close to downtown Santa Cruz, so you can drop off your car and enjoy a nice lunch, catch a movie at the theater, or even take a nice walk to the beach.

Very good communication and the price for my shocks are not too bad. They actually got my shocks done in a day and I paid $800 dollars plus I had to get my car aligned. I got a notice in the mail to get my car balanced and my wheels rotated, but the funny thing is I went to Costco to buy a new set of tires 3 weeks later. But anyways for the most part I found this place through yelp in fact so good choice. If you need shocks, brakes, or any other service down, then go to Lloyd's tire. I plan to use Yelp again to find a local mechanic to do my tune-up before school ends.

Have been living in Santa Cruz for 25 years, and I would not go anywhere else for tires. There may be other shops in Santa Cruz that are as reputable , but Lloyd's is near my house, and I've never been given a reason to shop elsewhere. They are quick, professional, and charge a fair price. Their mechanic services are also excellent - alignments, oil changes, etc. Give 'em a try. They're honest folk, and they're a LOCAL small business.

They are open at 7:30 am Mon- Fri until 5 pm. As a commuter you cannot beat that. They have been locally owned for decades and they have local coffee.. they even have a sign that says think local.. You always see them busy when passing on River St but I totally recommend them for your tire issues. Things I noticed 1 Santa Cruz Roasting Co coffee-- Steve's Smooth French in the morning will calm any stressed out mo'fo 2 new and redecorated remodeled show roomlounge area they won the remodel at a convention-- how kick arse is that? 3 they have their own newletter with tips, places to check out, information about vehicle safety and a chance to meet an employee btw if an employee has Office Space as their favorite movie I have to try the place out 4 Free Wifi stations oh yes.. you can surf the web 5 The place is impeccably clean 6 The guys work at 7:30 AM going in and out checking in and out vehicles not back and forth from the coffee stand These guys are the traditional don't say much, work hard and get it done types who are very well versed about products. Their customer service is also stellar. My tire comes in tomorrow afternoon and in the mean time they gave me a temporary tire to use so I can commute. My total cost of new tire and labor-- around 150 total..which I am willing to pay after this whole $%% fiasco

I drove in at 2:30PM with a warning on my tire pressure monitoring system and a nail in one of my tires. 15 minutes and a $20 bill later, my problem was fixed and I was on my way. Sweet!Update, a couple of weeks and 1,000mi later: No further problems. The patch held.

Top-notch business, been buying tires from them for years. Glad they have a branch in Watsonville now, so much more convenient than driving into that traffic nightmare on River Street in Santa Cruz.Lloyd's is the best!!!

Love this place. I've bought two sets of tires and had 3 patches I drive a lot.I know NOTHING about tires, so I'm in a difficult spot as a consumer. The folks at Rusty's Honda & Mazda across the street told me to go here and it was a great recommendation. This probably isn't the cheapest place to get tires in the county. Maybe you could save a few bucks at Costco, but everyone seems to have a bad experience there. I would rather spend a little more and be able to trust that I won't be oversold on a tire and that the work will be done correctly and they will stand behind the work. They have always been scrupulously honest with me, saving me major $ by telling me when I was paying for more tire than I need. They asked me questions about the driving I do to find the right product. I hear the old-timers talk about how things used to be - that when someone shook your hand, it meant something. And when a business didn't treat its customers well, they lost those customers and went out of business. It seems like those places are few and far in between, that we are stuck with the big box retailers and their uninformed salespeople and all that fine print. Lloyd's is that kind of locally-owned, old-fashioned handshake business that you hear about from the old folks. Grandpa, I found an honest business! If you are frustrated by places that don't pay attention to you and don't seem to know what they are doing, please give Lloyd's a try.
